About Emerald UX Academy

We are a young learning studio based in Dublin, launched one year ago to address the growing need for structured UI/UX education in Ireland. Our focus is practical, aligned to the expectations of tech teams, and supported by mentors who have worked in product design environments.

Our Mission

We aim to make UI/UX education structured, accessible, and directly connected to how products are built in Ireland. Every course is designed to help learners build real-world confidence through research, prototyping, and interface design practice.

Because we are new, we focus on maintaining small cohorts, providing clear feedback loops, and continuously refining our curriculum based on learner outcomes.

Connected to Ireland’s Tech Scene

We pay close attention to the hiring expectations and product practices of companies in Dublin and across Ireland. This helps us guide learners toward relevant skills such as design systems, usability standards, and clear documentation.

Our approach is informed by conversations with local designers, UX researchers, and product managers, ensuring our projects remain realistic and aligned with current workflows.

Teaching Approach

Foundations First

We start with UX fundamentals, research planning, and information architecture to ground every design decision in user goals.

Studio Practice

Each module includes studio time for iteration, critique, and structured improvements in real project scenarios.

Portfolio Readiness

Projects are designed to become detailed case studies that demonstrate how you think and work as a designer.

Facilities and Resources

Our learning space is located in Dublin 1, with accessible transport links and quiet areas for focused work. Learners have access to structured templates, UI libraries, and guidance on accessibility and design ethics.

  • Research templates for interviews and synthesis.
  • Design system resources and UI pattern libraries.
  • Guidance on accessibility standards and best practices.

Quality and Continuous Improvement

As a newer academy, we prioritize continuous improvement. Each cohort provides feedback that shapes future lesson plans, projects, and delivery methods. This keeps our material aligned with industry expectations while remaining approachable for learners.

We also review changes in tooling, design standards, and product practices to keep the curriculum current.
